Inside the sink drain of a small townhouse, Mike had made his home. Being a mini man had its perks, as finding a home in the city was easy, so long as no others of his kind were living there too. It even came with free food that the person living in the townhouse unknowingly provided. It wasn’t like they would care much about a few peas and crumbs going missing.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly until he overheard his roommate Jazine’s conversation with their friend. They asked, “Where can I get drain inspections close to Melbourne?” And their friend Brie asked what the issue was. Jazine explained that they had not been able to use the bathroom sink, since it seemed to be blocked. They had to brush their teeth in the kitchen, and while it helped them remember to do it after meals, they missed having a mirror in front of them. Jazine said they had banged on the pipe under the sink in case that might fix it, but it didn’t work. Brie said that Jazine just needs to book a plumber for Melbourne blocked drains then, since they shouldn’t try to fix it themselves.
Jazine agreed and went over to the landline phone to contact a plumber to help. Mike panicked. He had just finished building his house and now someone was going to come over and destroy it. All that hard work just going down the drain, literally. He had to do something, and quickly. He jumped into a nearby vent and travelled towards where the phone was located. From inside the wall, he could hear Jazine pressing in the plumber’s number. Mike whipped out the scalpel blade he had carefully stored in his backpack and cut the cord from inside the wall, stopping the phone from working. He hoped that would buy him a bit more time to figure out a plan.
